Fight Night Productions and Ker’s WingHouse Present “WingHouse Fight Night”
TAMPA, Fla. – Fight Night Productions and Ker’s WingHouse Bar & Grill will present the final “WingHouse Fight Night” show of 2011 on Friday, November 11, at the A La Carte Event Pavilion (4050 Dana Shores Dr., Tampa, FL 33634) headlined by a turf-war for the vacant Florida State Super Middleweight Title, pitting the undefeated Jose “Cheloman” Alonzo (12-0-0, 7 KOs) of Spring Hill, Florida versus Sarasota’s Adam Jaco (9-4-1, 4 KOs). Both Alonzo and Jaco have a long history of thrilling local boxing fans, as both fighters grew-up and climbed the amateur ranks in the Tampa-area.
“Cheloman,” the winner
of the 1994 district Golden Gloves title (165 lbs.) in Palm Bay, Florida, has
fought 11 of his 12 professional fights in the state, including his last six
fights in Tampa. He was one of the state’s up-and-coming stars until injuries
kept him out of the ring for eight years. On February 11th of this
year, Alonzo made his triumphant return to the ring, picking up where he left
off and keeping his undefeated streak alive with a hard-earned unanimous
decision victory.
Jaco, a
second-generation boxer whose father, heavyweight David Jaco, fought the likes
of Mike Tyson, James “Buster” Douglas and George Foreman, grew up in Sarasota
and attended Sarasota High School. He has fought 10 of his professional fights
in front of Tampa crowds, and hopes his 11th appearance will bring
with it a state title.
“This is the next step
with my career,” said Jaco. “I’ve wanted this Florida State Super Middleweight
title for a long time, and I can’t wait to for November 11th.”
Leading the feature
bouts will be two of St. Petersburg’s most promising talents, both making their
return to the A La Carte Pavilion, as Manny “Shake ‘Em Up” Woods (7-1-1, 3 KOs)
and Alphonso Black (1-0-0, 1 KO) look to continue their winning ways. Both
Woods and Black have both had a successful 2011, and have are creating quite
the buzz in the area with their natural talent and potential.
Also scheduled to appear will be Tampa’s Ali Tareh (9-9-4, 4 KOs) and the professional boxing debut of St. Petersburg’s Michael Rideout, who has a record of 2-1-0 in the Mixed Martial Arts world.
